I agree with some of the previous posters about the weave. BU just doesn't have the players to run it effectively. You have to be a triple threat type of player that can shoot off the dribble, take the ball to the basket or make the pass when you get double teamed. If you don't, teams can exploit your weakness and cause a turnover.

It's not a great offensive scheme, but with the right players that make good decisions, it is hard to defend.

I agree...but think you mean BIG. A Singular Big. Probably a lower case, singular big.

The problem is that we are not quite as good a ball handling/passing team this year. We are also younger.

So what needs to happen is we need to be given a strategy that better suits our available personnel and slowing the tempo down.
Agreed with you here squirrel. This team could be decent at a halfcourt, defensive-style game. While athletic enough to play up-tempo, I don't think we're experienced enough or skilled enough to do it well. Butler proved that last night.

              Can I agree as well?

Running the weave isn't the problem per se, it is running the weave against a team that has been running it for 20 years that is.

Did anyone else notice that we didn't use the weave as much today, especially at the beginning? We looked like a normal basketball team for a while.

                    Yeah.

There was some really good ball movement, less dribbling and more passing. I liked it.

That's because SEMO played a zone defense almost the entire game. The weave isn't much value against the zone, and we play it primarily against man-to-man defense.
