I would like to be able to start EM at PG, but I just don't think he's ready yet. He played a pretty good game last night, but he still isn't at a point to really run the offense. To me, he looks like he dribbles without having an idea where he's going with it. He'll also pick up his dribble when there's no real reason to... Stuff like that. I think he's going to be a very good one for us, and I hope he gets major minutes so he can keep learning, but I just don't think he's quite ready to be a starting PG.
That's why I support BB's lineup above. Dodie's handling the ball best for us right now, doesn't turn it over much, appears to be a good passer, and has some nice offense. I think with SM struggling a bit he might to better in the 2... With EM getting some big minutes so he can progress and be ready to be the man at point.
Not to take this in a different direction, but if the Wilkins family had all of their ducks in line, shouldn't they have had high HS information ready to hand over? Maybe they did, and the NCAA wants more, who knows. Regardless, it doesn't sound like JW is going to be playing basketball anywhere anytime soon.

Have you heard anything new because I for one have not heard anything one way or the other. I'd suspect that they do have all their ducks in a row and are just waiting for the NCAA to clear him. I would think getting the records from France should be a lot easier then let's say Nigeria. I heard that we should find out about where we are with him right after finals are done, Dec. 14th??? or so.

From today's PJStar: One week before the end of first semester, the case of committed Bradley recruit John Wilkins of Belgium still seems far from any resolution. Bradley has not heard from the NCAA Clearinghouse's Eligibility Center, which means Wilkins' academic documentation from his Belgium high school has not yet been received. The transcripts the NCAA receives must be originals and have to come through the Belgian government. Wilkins was hopeful of being enrolled at BU for second semester and start practice next week. Aside from the grades issues, Wilkins' amateurism also will need to be evaluated by the eligibility center. He made a limited number of appearances for a Belgian professional team two years ago.
This would be my lineup;
Wilson
Brown
Thompson
Maniscalco
Dunson
This would give us a better chance to score more points inside and get more offensive rebounds, as far as defense , I doubt they would give up as many points as last night. E.McCain would get a lot of playing time as he has earned it.
The question there would be, who's paying his tuition? We cannot give him an athletic scholarship without being cleared.
If Wilkins is confident he will be cleared, then he could enroll and take out a loan or the money could come form his family. I know tuition is quite a bit, but it's only a semester.
Also, if he is later cleared by the NCAA, then couldn't Coach Les then award him the scholarship retroactively? Like the school could refund the money then? Or pro-rate his tuition?
I remember that Coach Les at least once would award an open scholarship to a walk-on who performed well for the year. I thought this was retroactively applied to the current semester or year. Anyone know?
There may also be other rules regarding scholarships and being cleared to play for a school that is recruiting you athletically but I would also suspect if JW enrolled at BU as a regular student he would probably receive a bunch of financial aid regardless. He brings diversity and good grades to the Hilltop and right there BU usually helps out.

I have ran my mouth about finding solutions and getting things upright, so maybe I should answer this thread. Also I opened my mouth about winning the MVC way before the season started. Though some unlucky things have happen and like I said in another thread, things are up-side down right now and we need to get them up-right, I still think that winning the title is still a very good possibly. So here is my take on what we need to change. This is going with what we have as now, no AW.
First, we need to get to a 8 no more than 9 rotation before the MVC.
Second, we need to change to a more inside game and that will open better looks for the 3's
Third. we need to go bigger.
Guards would be SM, DD, and EM
Forwards would be TW, CR, TB and AT
Center would be SS (with AT at times)
I like using CR and TB off the bench. Both can play the 3 or 4 and I can see AT when SS out to the 5 and TW at the 4, also there may be times where we may play TW, CR, and TB at the same time. By having TW, SS and AT in there at the same time, our rebounding and production will improve and TW can still rebound plus help out more on D.with the guards.
Starting 5 1 - SM, 2 - DD, 3 -TW, 4 -AT and 5 - SS
There is no team in the the MVC that can match up to us the whole game, if our bigs come to play! BU will win the the MVC this year!

Only problem I have w/ this is that we will need Norris at some point and I feel Sammy and Dodie will both produce better if they're not playing so many minutes...especially Sammy...
That and I think before the end of the year, Darian will win us some games w/ his shooting...I still feel as though he is the best pure shooter from 3 that we have...he just needs to get a few minutes in and get on a roll so to speak.
