More Disciplined
Better Defense
Actually Ran an Offense
More Physical (which you can do when the other team doesnt make free throws)
those 3 things right thereObstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

And yes, I can agree w/ your theory w/o you even presenting it.
I just can't understand why we STILL in YEAR SEVEN can not get certain things right that should be known from not necessarily day 1, but at least by the 2nd or 3rd season...
Sometimes I feel like we're watching "Groundhog Day".

I do like the make up of this team but, maybe just maybe we think they are better then they are. I think its time we put less importance on being able to run the floor and jump out of the gym and start recruiting people who can shoot it. I've said all along the recruit we missed out on the most is Matt Roth. He would set records with this offense but thats old news and we have to get more people who can shoot it. They put points on the board when it goes in not if you can't finish. We have some problems but its not a lost season yet but its fast becoming one.

We definitely need a shooter coming in next year! I also hope our new bigs can bang and not just bang but love it! Just think next year we'll have a guy that can really shoot, pull up or go to the rim hard, his name is AW! Guess what we'll have a big who actually likes contact and will bang it with the best his name is WE. If you do not think for one minute that these two going down does not hurt us you are mistaken. If JW shows up and is what we hear he is then we should be pretty solid next year across the board. My expectations from this team with the injuries has gone down a bit but the enjoyment I can take away from this year can be huge. We have a young team that will be thrown into the fire and we'll see what they are made of. The best is yet to come. This team will be much different come March and much much different come Oct. 2009. There is the Kenny Rogers song,"Know when to hold them, know when to fold them, know when to walk away." Well, let me tell you I'm not walking away from this team or from JL. There's a lot of basketball to be played and I'll find the silver-lining from this group.
BTW I like JL's recruiting style a lot. If you cannot see what the new facilities will bring us, you are blind."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

Great points! I now feel better about this team having had a chance to swallow what happened last night. We should still have a decent record by the end of this season.

Because it's called COLLEGE BASKETBALL!!!! Check the roster. Check the starting lineup. Most of these guys have only been here 1 or 2 years.
Supporting a college team is GREATLY different from being a fan of a Pro team. Supporting a mid-major and showing loyalty, patience and understanding is vastly different from being a fan of a BCS power like Duke, Carolina, Kansas and others. Only a select few mid-majors (Gonzaga and Butler are two) have shown the ability to win year in and year out.
I suggest (and hope) that you and a few others adjust your thinking regarding being a fan of Bradley basketball. Otherwise, I'm afraid, you are destined for a life of bitterness and disappointment.
(And I'm not picking on you SLB because I find many of your posts enlightening and informative. I just wish you didn't have to be so negative. If, after 3 more years, Les is STILL not able to field a consistent and winning team I may be ready to buy-in to the "Les is the reason" theory. Until then, let's give these young players and this young coach a chance to develop and see what happens. I still see GREAT things ahead for Jim Les and BU Basketball!)

Though our team compares very favorably to Butler I attribute their superiority to a couple of things:
1) They probably beat us in recruiting the "top-tier" recruit. Their new guys were slightly better and "longer" than our guys,
2) They recruited "shooters" that we also wanted. If we had a shooter I believe our results this year would be different,
3) I believe it is easier to teach and coach a team of freshmen and sophomores than a team that relies on jucos (us). The juco player is important, IMO, for most mid-major programs but they definately have a downside regarding "coachability". I think we're seeing some of that
