While we don't have the greatest post players, DC does have a decent hook shot that he has displayed in the past. Have to try something different mid game when the rest of the players are throwing up bricks for 3's. As for FT's, a team as a whole should never shoot 58% 2 games in a row. 1 or 2 players may never improve, but a team as a whole should improve.

Would you emphasize post plays with our post personel. Bradley has never been a post team and has not recruited pure post players. That's a fact, Jack . And it's awfully hard to correct poor free throw shooters overnight. I'd submit that these guys have been poor free throw shooters their whole life and have already ingrained poor technique in their muscle memory. Nobody worked harder than Shaq to improve free throw shooting and he STILL could not make them.

I think the Butler coach called a time out seconds into the 2nd half because he didn't like the intensity of his team and didn't want to see a 14 - 0 run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He could have waited for the 16 minute time out though.

Another quirky part of the game was when Butler called a time 13 seconds into the second half. Does anyone know what that was about?

When watching college hoops.... I respect how/when a coach first RECOGNIZES something and then 2ndly IMMEDIATELY makes an adjustment. That move tonight was respectful. He saw some adjustment Bradley had made at the 1/2 offensively, Bradley capitalized, he called t-out to address it instead of letting Bradley capitalize on it again.

The games that we have lost (including the exhb. game) this season we did not defend the 3 point shot very well.

We do not feed the post AT ALL in our offense. I can count on one hand the times one of our big guys set a good post and someone actually fed him the ball down low. Our big guys are usually running around setting screens 23 feet from the hoop and then rolling to the basket.

Thats also because if we feed Collins down low the guy is gonna shoot the ball no matter how bad a shot or whether he even has a hold of it...

If it goes to him, its going up...so really, I don't blame guys for not wanting to throw it in there...

I haven't read a single post in this thread, so I am speaking purely out of what I hear and see at the games. People can b-tch and moan about bad shooting, 'the weave', Collins, or whatever. But it doesn't mean anything if the team doesn't play even grade-school level defense. I am tired of hearing 'Defense is our calling card', 'We hang our hat on defense'...blah blah blah shut up. No you don't. Stop giving it lip service. I have no doubt that this team can play defense when it wants to, and when it's taught to. They showed that the first half against MSU. They then showed in the subsequent 3 halves that their fundamentals on defense are awful and that their effort is sporadic at best. I can accept bad possessions, I can accept bad shooting, and I can accept freshman mistakes. I can't accept bad fundamentals and poor effort. We've got a heavy dose of both lately from our Braves.

First of all, I'm glad to hear that changes are on the way. If I had to watch this all year I'd go broke buying $5.50 beers.

I come out with these four guys starting on Sunday:
McCain
Dunson
Wilson
Brown

And a combination of Thompson/Singh.

Some people are saying we were better with Theron on the bench. I think that in reality we are just a better team with Taylor Brown on the court. There is no way you can tell me that you don't have Theron in your top 4 current players (gotta have a center on the court, too) Brown just seems to be everywhere. I think this lineup would really help our defense. I don't think Theron can play 30+ minutes defending a true 4 and not look bad on D every now and then just because of the size mismatch. With two bigger guys, it should take some pressure off Singh or Thompson, too. We should also rebound better.

Then, I rotate in Sammy as a spark off the bench. His shot is flat, but it looked a little better than I have seen lately tonight. I like having Sammy as a sub because I think we can sub him in at the 1 or the 2. That helps in cases of foul trouble. We could also bring Roberts in to give Brown or Wilson a little breather. I don't think we suffer a huge drop off with Roberts in. I think people expose some of his tendencies/weaknesses when he is on the court too long. His athleticism will allow him to get by in shorter stretches. This fexibility allows us to sprinkle in the 3-guard line up for like 7 or 8 minutes a half. I'd also use Norris if we are shooting poorly and need to find a hot hand. Collins would come off the bench only when we can use him on the offensive end to exploit a mismatch, if we can find one. Maybe that would light a fire under his ...

Same old story. Beaten by better players, better execution, better coaching. No noticeable improvement (with the exception of Will) since game one. Doesn't bode well.

Something is blatently and horribly wrong with it. might not be pure selfishness, but itis certainly alarming and a symptom of some serious problem.

I don't think it has anything to do with selfishness...It has everything to do with the fact that no one else on the team could make a perimeter shot.
Sam M was 4-5 from three point range tonight...The rest of the team was 3-19 combined...
Roberts was 0-4, Theron was 1-5, Norris was 0-2, Brown was 0-2, Dunson was 0-1...
Those were the guys taking shots at the other end of Maniscalco's potential assist passes...So of course he ended up with 1 assist with that collection of bricklaying going on...

Also, does anyone know who the two recruits were sitting behind the Bradley bench. They were shown on the scoreboard at one point and I thought one of them looked a lot like Donivine Stewart.
