I think what is frustrating for me, is that if every night, BU gave the effort that they gave in the 1st half, I don't know who would beat them. I really don't. If you defend and rebound like that, you can shoot 10% against most teams and still win.
10% Can't agree with that, as I don't think that has ever happen not even back in your days BB.
There is no team in the the MVC that can match up to us the whole game, if our bigs come to play! BU will win the the MVC this year!
52-inch TV? We talking hi-def? If so, I'd like to invite myself over for a game...
Thats right Scouter, hi-def And yes you can come over and I will have beer for you too. I'm just glad you are ok as I haven't heard much out of you lately

I guess along with saying that Michigan State rushed our looks you have to say that FGCU and Richmond probably did not hurry our shooters as much, so that plays a part as well. I am with you on Egolf. I thought that if we could get a contribution from either WE or AT this year we could do serious damage in conference, and it looked like Will was starting to get comfortable.
Correct Rusty, those teams you mentioned did not rush our guys. FGCU, Richmond, and ETSU did not defend as well as MSU. Also, there isn't the perception that they're defending as well, so thus there's seemingly no need to rush shots.
I want more AT. The guy can run the floor, is long, is athletic, and is skilled around the basket. Drop him in the water and let him sink or swim. Enough babying.

Back in the peach basket days?
I was exaggerating a bit, but the point is the same. If BU would come out with the same toughness and intensity it showed defensively and on the glass, they'd win a lot more games. One the one hand I think it looked like progress, but on the other hand I am reminded of the 2nd half when it wasn't there anymore.
It's clear he's not the dominant big man we would all desire.
But considering he was a project:
-He's not tripping all over himself on the court.
-He isn't an incredible liability on defense. Is he careless at times on the defensive end? Sure, but he is at least an interior presence for a team that otherwise has precious little else other than an undersized guy who happens to play the 4 incredibly well.
-His minutes aren't terribly unproductive. He averages a shade under 4 pts on about 13 minutes. Not great, but not nearly as bad as some other "project" 7 footers I've seen.

Yup, I think we're on the same page here. I wish he wasn't so up-and-down, but he may end up being the guy that you use when he's hot (I use that term loosely), and go to AT when he's not.
The thing I noticed about us shooting the ball is when we fall behind by 8 or more points our players come down the floor and take quick shots instead of when we are ahead we pass the ball more and get a lot better shots which is why we make more of them.
