  • Butler a good barometer

Butler should be a good barometer of where BU is vs. the Valley this year. I saw Butler play against Cleveland State. They are a good team. Well coached and play hard. They are very young. No seniors on the roster and start 3 freshmen, 1 sophmore and 1 junior. They start 2 6'8", 2 6'3" and 1 6' players. Undefeated at this point, with some nice wins. They do not give up many points. Should be a very interesting game.

I'm so sick of playing Horizon League teams. But, this is a good barometer and a good team to have on the schedule. It would be a real nice feather to have in our cap.

This is the perfect game to have on our schedule at this point of the season. We should be able to pull this one out if our guys come out to play, anything less then our best and we'll be in for a long night. This team cannot afford to take any time off during the game. I like where we are at and feel pretty comfortable that we'll pull this one out in a tight game. Besides UMKC game all the other games have gone as expected. We even played Richmond better then most of us thought we would.

This will be a good game to determine if BU will have a chance to win all of our home games as Butler should be one of the best teams we face at Carver this season.

This is a game that will define expectations for the rest of the season, IMO.

With Butler playing a lot better than most expected this year, this game could go a long way if Bradley plays their way into at-large contention for the NCAA tournament. I know that's a long way off, but I contend that a win against Butler potentially could carry as much weight as a win over Florida or Michigan St would have, particularly due to Butler's recent tournament history.

Good luck to Bradley tomorrow night! Do the Valley proud!

BravesFan as much as I would like to agree with you I really do not believe that. No matter what happens here we will need to win the regular season MVC or the MVC Tourney period. This game will make a difference on who we play in the Bracket Buster though.

I'm in the minority on this one, as I think by the end of the year, a win over Butler will be ho-hum. They have been better than expected, as young as they are, but Clev. St is not the same as playing at Bradley. If the crowd is into it, I expect the young bulldogs to unravel a bit. Sam M needs a redemption game big time...if he pulls another 0 fer from the arc, we could be in trouble.

It was a great barometer. Consider staying out of Thursday a rousing success.

I think we're plenty good enough for that. What I wanted to see was something that didn't say "We're going to finish 4th-6th, just like we do every frickin' year".

I'm not so sure we won't be battling to stay out of Thursday. Outside of Richmond, our wins have been against low-major schools. We're probably going to pound SEMO, but it won't mean we've fixed anything. I can't see us winning at UW-M, although personnel-wise we're far superior. We'll pound SIU-E too, but that's probably where the beatings for the year end. At this point, I can't project more than 8 conference wins. Traditionally, that has you either playing in, or in a tiebreaker scenario for the 6th seed.
