I recall Neitzel hitting some shots when they pulled ahead at the end of the game. (That might of been all his points, but he made 'em when it counted most.

And, I've heard, too many times, JL talk about allowing a suspect guy beat us. I think usually the "other guy" is suspect only when defended straight-up, but usually good when left alone.

It's not a bad strategy at all, and I am certainly not saying JL should have done it any differently. I would guess that taking away options 1, 2, and 3 and making options 4 and 5 beat you is how most good coaches make their living. The good ones can get 4 and 5 to beat you, as Izzo did with 6th man Lucas, who was among their leading scorers last year in Peoria.

I think the chances were very, very small for an upset before the Egolf injury. I am going to the game and don't expect a victory, not even worried about a victory. I would be happy to see the Braves improve in areas that have been a concern. After the drubbing the Spartans took last night, they will want to open a can of whoop arse on the Braves. I will be interested in BUs post play on defense, blocking out and rebounding, ability to keep the lightening quick guards from blowing to the basket, taking care of the ball to reduce turnovers, ability to keep from getting stuck on a number, ability to minimize a big run by the Spartans. If BU makes free throws and 3s, it will be a bonus. I just want to see solid improvement in the basics. A win, might cause me to stay in East Lansing all night and visit every bar around the campus with my BU clothes on.

I agree with your assessment, unless MSU is still down from their game yesterday. Then again, I don't think Izzo will let that happen!

I sure hope DC shows up is all I can say! I hate to be the bearer of bad news though, DC rarley shows up on the road. I hope someone is getting him fired up and proves me wrong because we'll need him.

Who knows about AT? Maybe he did something wrong this summer and JL has had to sit him down and now he can start to play. One can dream!

We'll need alot of different things to go our way on the road for us to win. One never knows and that is why they play them.

I agree, play the games and see what happens. BU is not a program that needs give me wins for confidence, or any other reason. I don't expect a win. It is difficult to win on the road, even against teams with far less quality than MSU. I just hope to see improvement in the areas of weakness. Play good and improve and I will be happy. It is not a shame to get beat by a better team. I do hope AT gets some minutes in this game. I think he will be needed during the conference season for some minutes.

After watching Mich.St. play last night I believe their is an outside chance to win ;
Here is what we need to do in order to have a chance to win:
1) Continue to shoot the ball well
2) Force Mich.St. to make outside shots ( 2-3 zone could do this)
3) Rebound
4) stay out of foul trouble
I hope Anthony Thompson is ready to become a larger part of this team by stepping up and contributing now as he has the talent to help us.

I'll lose by 100 on Sunday if it means a win over Butler. After MSU, we should win out in the non-con. I don't know about you, but 8-3 in the non-con minus two starters is pretty good to me.

Last year against Tulsa in the BCI..... and there was another time!!! On the road though he has been a complete no show...at least at home there is a little hope.
