AT would've been really lost trying to defend Clemson's post players last night, let alone score 28 points against them.
I definitely have not seen enough of AT to make a fair comparison. Yet I have spent the past year trying to imagine how someone of his size would fit in with the team. What I was saying in the initial post was that based on what I have heard and the little I have seen, I couldn't help but think of the comparison. Its like in football where your "best" player is the backup quarterback because you are only thinking the best, and haven't seen the flaws. By no means am I saying AT is or necessarily will be as good as Davis.

However I am cautiously optimistic that with steady and consistent playing time, we have a vision of what he could be based on a similarly sized player.

You don't have to take my word as the truth. I have seen most of the minutes he has played at BU. You can also form an opinion by the lack of minutes he plays at BU. I've also seen quite a bit of Mike Davis, certainly enough to know their is currently no comparison. I'm a BU fan, trust me, I hope he gets a lot better.

As far as my basketball knowledge, in America we're free to make judgements no matter what qualifies us to do so. If you're paying attention, there's quite a bit of that on this board. You disagree with me, I certainly don't care, but I don't have to put my resume out here to make a post. But I was a pretty good high school player back in the day. Does that count?

Let me start with my apology first! I re-read my post and it did come across a bit condescending. If your comment came from Da Coach I would have excepted it as is but I have hardly tracked your comments to know if you know what you are talking about and you know as well as I do there is a lot of garbage information on these sites. I just wanted to see if your insight could be trusted. I just thought that your comment was pretty cut and dry and that possibly you have seen them at practice because he has hardly seen anything but the pine during the games.

BTW...I never doubted your loyalty to BU.

I'm old as dirt, still playing with guys 40 years + younger than me I played last night, was on fire - I'll tell you. I still have my shot but have learned the older I have gotten, I have no place in the paint. There is only a couple things I hate and thats when we pick who we will guard and one of those 19 to 22 year olds say's I GOT THE OLD MAN . The second is when I get home after playing, walk through the back door and the first thing that comes out of my wifes mouth is what did they hurt and how bad tonight. Just Once she could ask me did you burn them to tonight. As for my game I will tell you this, from the parking lot to the gym theres No One that can beat me (Got my Nike Air Max 360 on my feet, my Under Armour trunks with X-Large Pro Jock, and my free-be BU T-Shirt with the sleeves cut off)
There is no team in the the MVC that can match up to us the whole game, if our bigs come to play! BU will win the the MVC this year!

You made me laugh and I had to read it to my GF who said I think the same thing as his wife. I went from touching the rim to having the vertical jump of the width of a credit card.

Having said that it's always BU first, Illini second and Loyola figures always in the mix, can you beleive the 1963 NCAA championship game was not on TV - listened to it on the radio, not sure about the spelling but remember the names - Miller to Egan to Rouse to Hunter to Harkness. Red Rush was one great broadcaster
Not sure but I think that game was on TV. Thought I watched it. Might be wrong, it was a long time ago. Red Rush was a great announcer and had some great lines like, "swisheroo, it went right through." Also did Sox games and was my 2nd all time favorite announcer, right behind Bob Elson.

This may need to be another thread but I also had a few radio play by play announcers growing up that would paint a picture in your head like you were there. I'm sure kids now days rarely listen to the radio for games since most games are on the tube and there are more then one TV per household.
My brother had a clock radio, not the electronic kind but the kind where the numbers would turn over. Well during the summers my mother would tell us to go to bed but the Orioles were still playing. Well I'd flip my pillow on the other side we'd put the game on low and listen to the magical words of Chuck Thompson doing the play by play. I still remeber listening to Brooks Robinson's last game as an O's as he hit a HR. Magical moments is all I can say.
