Perhaps the best news is that Eric Gordon is doing Bruce Weber's job for him and perhaps doing it better than BW.
In a story this morning in Indianapolis, Eric Gordon says he is going to play for the AAU Mean Streets with his friend Derrick Rose just to try to sway Derrick into coming to Illinois:
"I want to get Derrick Rose to go to Illinois with me," Gordon said. "I want people to see us play on the same team and see how good we are together."
Weber desperately wants to get Rose and have a trio of Rose/McCamey/Gordon that will remind people of the trio of Dee/Luther/Deron.
But Jamar Smith is not going to go away and hide and will also be part of this 3-guard rotation.
The Sun Times quotes sources saying Derrick Rose has narrowed his choices to Illinois, Virginia, and Memphis,
which certainly great news to those who despise Bill Self--as the Kansas head coach was trying to lure Rose to be a Jayhawk.
