I guess they aren't the worst in Valley attendance, however, illinois state does have one of the best records in the country!

That is about the only positive right now...we are playing well... albeit against weak competition.

The positive aspect is we are (so far) winning the games we are supposed to, which is something the rest of the Valley has not done so far. This is not a knock on BU or other valley schools that have bad losses, just a fact.

Again, this in NO way justifies the schedule or the 7-0 record or anything... but all they can do at this point is run the table in the non-conf. schedule (to avoid a bad loss)... do as best they can in the conf. schedule... and hope to get a good BB game (Davidson would be a huge get- they are a home team, we are away) and win that game. It will probably be our only chance to beat a team that is going to make the NCAA tourney.

Only time will tell and maybe Wright State (0-4 currently ) or another non-conf. opponent will get hot and win their conference tourney... The main argument for ISU not getting into the tourney last year seemed to be that they were 0-5 again teams that made the field of 65 (DU x 3, Kent State, Indiana... I think that is accurate).

The Missouri State official website shows their average home attendance
to be 9014, but that'll drop as it is presently buoyed by a HUGE attendance of 10,285 for the Arkansas game.
They only drew 7742 for Utah.

perennially ISU is ahead of Evansville and Drake even in bad years, so what's the reason
in such a good year are they now behind those schools?

Missouri State is in a new building so that certainly helps....

Evansville is a pleasant surprise in attendance so far...

I still fully believe that we could get more fans ourselves if we were in a new bigger arena...

Then again, thats a different argument for a different day.

I have a feeling the EU's total includeds their exhibition game vs. Southern Indiana (I think that is the correct school)... in which they sold out because it is some big rivalry game... I could be wrong though... who else have they played at home? I haven't really been paying too much attention to EU

Missouri State is inducting their two of their greatest scorers into their HOF....hey it's about time!!
The Ozarks Sports Zone team covers sports around the Ozarks

Jackie Stiles (1997-2001) is their all time leading women's scorer.
Johnny Murdock (1991-1995) is their #3 all time leading men's scorer.
(but he is only ONE point behind the #2 guy, Curtis Perry - maybe he can make a comeback like Bernie Mac did in Mr. 3000! )

Well we've only had 3 home games so far (not counting the exhibition), all of which were over Thanksgiving break, in poor weather, and against 3 teams that most fans, especially the fence sitters, won't get excited about. It sucks the crowds werent bigger but it's not surprising either.

As for UE, I think in addition to their exhibition game, all their home games have been with students on campus (incl. at least 1 Sat night game) so that helps their attendance.

I got the numbers from the official MVC stats. Not sure why they would include an exhibition game for one team and not for the others. It shows them drawing a total of 16,186 for their three home games.

                  6,186 - Austin Peay
                  5,482 - Buffalo

I couldn't find a total for the Oakland City game, but I'm sure it was probably close to 4,518.

If anyone ever has a chance to go to a CU game at the Qwest Center I highly recommend going. Its an amazing place with a fantastic atmosphere. Good area close to many establishments in Omaha.

I understand WSU has a great atmosphere also. Never been there.

I went to a BU game at Wichita when Smithson was the coach. Very loud arena. Going for my 2nd visit tomorrow night. I hope it is quieter

I randomly chose to go to last year's game at the Qwest Center with my friend. It felt like an NBA stadium. Most exciting game I have ever seen in person. Crouch / Ruffin / Wilson with huge days. Big 3 after big 3, and we lost 110-111 in double OT I think. Few bad calls, things that didn't go our way, Singh missed the open hook shot to win it. What's his face Witter had like 42 points off the bench. Electric atmosphere but the weirdest thing was their cheerleading squad. They were dressed in blue and white striped overalls and looked like farmers.
It was up and down. There were almost no Bradley fans within our sight except Glasser right behind the bench and we stood up when they sat down and they glared at us, but then when they made a big play they would all stare at us. I would go again in a heartbeat.

How sad that Illinois State is 8th in attendance and UNI is 9th after opening a new arena...

I just happened to be in Omaha when K Kover was at CU in his senior year and they blistered Drake. Just a lot of fun and great crowd.

I also went to Evansville years ago when we had a huge half time lead, blew it in the second half and Mo got tossed. Had seats at mid court 15 rows up and they were real quiet to us when we had the lead but real "mean" when we emploded Going to road games is great, if you can handle a little heckling.
