Next Up Michigan State - Winnable?

Yeah, I really like TB. And I think he plays taller than he is, but he doesn't play that tall. Only options at center for us are DC, SS, and AT at this point.

They just got beat badly by Maryland, starting center Goran Suton isn't playing due to injury,
Delvon Roe was limited due to a knee injury, and everyone on MSU shot poorly in the Maryland game.
Are we maybe catching them at a good time to pull an upset?

I just think SS and DC arent even close to bein athletic and fast enough to play with Mich St. AT might be athletic and fast enough but he cant get on the floor for some reason. I think we need to pull out all the weapons on this one and try as many combos that we can to try and catch Mich St off ballance. That will be our only chance to stay in this game.Thinking is the hardest work, that is why so few people do it. -Henry Ford
Yeah...I've been in college for a while now and I'm pretty sure that awesomest is not a word. -Andrew E.

He's out of his position more than Allen Iverson is out of practice...
Without Will, we have little chance inside against the Spartans...
Taylor Brown will do ok, but he's just too small for their bigs...
At this point, we'd have to have the game of our lives from our guards and MANY 3-pt field goals to win this game...

haha at this point I don't care...put TB in and don't call what he's doing "the 5"
have no one inside all game on offense and just have a 5 on 4 situation no closer than 12 feet to the basket...of course yes we'd have to shoot well
but back to reality lets just come to grips here people...DC will be our starting center against MSU and for the rest of the season....take it in now so it doesn't hurt so much later

At this point, I would take my chances w/ a combination of Sam Singh, Taylor Brown, and Anthony Thompson than see another minute of #4 on the court....
Did everyone notice that we went from 23 up to 13 up in a matter of a couple minutes w/ him on the floor last night?

Fortunately, it doesn't take a team full of "bigs" to compete for the top half of the Valley. I am confident that Les will be able to put an athletic, scrappy, scrambling defense-type team on the floor during Valley play and have the surprise team of the year (of course shooting the 3 like we did against ETSU will be needed as well). I really like the stroke that Norris has from behind the 3 -- very fluid stroke.
I know you're no fan of Maniscalco StLB, but keeping him healthy and on the floor is critical to BU's success this year, IMO

yes I made a note of it DURING the game last night on the Will Egolf thread I believe...i can't remember
I was definitely disheartened and I'm not sure if that mild comeback was due to DC being in or if it was because the team didn't have their heart in the game anymore...or a mixture of both...but one thing is for certain some magic needs to happen for this season to be a successful one...
goodbye MVC championship haha

My thoughts on Taylor Brown or Anthony Thompson being in...I would be playing stricly a 2-3 zone during their time in...It would cut down on AT being a focal point defensively and would allow Taylor the ability to not have his size exposed as much inside...plus, I think we are getting better and better each time at the zone...
That along w/ the rotation I mentioned would be the only way we would be able to compete w/ the Lawson's, Odiacosa's (sp?), and the Boyle's in the conference...

Who knows, by year's end we could get some nice surprises.
Collins isn't bringing much to the table this year and he won't be around next year so why not develop someone who will be?
Let the Freshmen get their feet wet and see if we can build something toward the future...
Think of where Creighton would be if they hadn't allowed Lawson some time last year...
We have no future next year w/ Collins playing now, and honestly, we have no future w/ him starting next week!
Let the kids play...

Win or lose, I think this game will benefit us. We will probably get blown out, but this will be the best team we play all year, and it will help our guys get accustomed to top level competition. I played baseball at BU back in the 90s and we played UCLA when Utley was there, and got swept, but it gave us a good frame of reference of top level competition and helped us the rest of the year
