Will is due to get an MRI on Sunday, then we'll know more details of the injury. The fact that he went down without any blow to the knee makes it hard to guess.
Sometimes a freak injury like this can involve torn ligaments, or cartilage damage, but I have seen similar injuries where there is very little damage to the interior knee structures. So lets hope it is not so serious. Usually, ACL injuries don't produce the kind of severe pain Will was showing. But I am not going to guess what happened.
As for the game--
Pigram is a nice player, but he's not much of a point guard, he appears more suited to the 2-guard position. Though he was credited with 5 assists, he rarely helped set up his teammates for shots. Mostly the ETSU team's offense involved Pigram launching long shots, or wither Smith or Tiggs going one-on-one to try to score.
But the most noticeable problem ETSU showed was that despite having a bunch of very athletic guys, I was surprised that they played poor defense and their stars seemed to take a lot of plays off on defense. Their zone defense was very weak, and allowed a lot of open shots, and inside passes, and their man-to-man defense was not very good either. I'd like to think Bradley scored at will, and shot 58% overall, and 54% on threes because of their great shooting skills, but I am afraid it had a lot to do with ETSU's poor defense.
But I'll take it.
Really nice, solid games by Dodie Dunson, Chris Roberts, Sam Maniscalco, Theron Wilson, and very good contributions by Taylor Brown, Eddren McCain, and Will Egolf. There were long stretches where all 3 freshmen played at he same time, and they held their own against a veteran lineup for ETSU.
