The Top of the World Classic disbanded, and left teams like Bradley scurrying to find other tournaments to compete in. But the more established Alaska early season tournament, the Great Alaskan Shootout did continue this year. Most sports fans might not have known this, because for the first time in many years, none of the games were televised by ESPN.
Unlike past years, they had trouble getting good teams to play there.
This year's field included Hampton, Northern Illinois, Portland State, Seattle, Louisiana Tech, Western Carolina, San Diego State, and Alaska Anchorage.
It seems likely to me that with the huge transportation costs and no TV contract, after tonight, this tournament may have played it's last games.
