South Padre Island Tourney

Little surprised Tornado hasn't brought this tourney up in discussions since his 2nd favorite team is playing in it.

NC-Wilmington defeated N.C. Central 79-64.

Tex A&M-CC looks to be holding on for a win over Jackson St.

UIUC faces Kent St at 5pm.

Tex A&M faces Tulsa at 7:30.

Any predictions or thoughts?

TxAM-CC wins 73-63.

UIUC scores 7 straight to end the first 1/2 and tie the game at 27 with Kent.

I don't like UIUC's uniforms.

I have a feeling UIUC will be playing Tex A&M on Saturday.

UIUC wins a very good win against a good Kent team by 6 in OT 69-63. They played solid D. Gutted it out. Tisdale was BIG. Didn't see Cole.

Yea - maybe I'm not "hatin" on them so much cause the 'fair-weather' fans have died off. It was brutal in '05. Every Dick, Tom, and Harry stuck a fork in me for no reason.

It was a good game and UIUC hung in and gutted it out. I think Kent will be a better win for them than Vandy.

UIUC must be the luckiest Div1 program amongst the BCS conferences when they play Non-BCS schools, but IMO they do not suck.

Seriously, they may or may not suck.. I just simply do not care about the Illinois basketball team.

And since this is a Bradley Basketball board I really wish there were no discussions of that program on this board. I highly doubt anyone on any Illinois board will mention a Bradley game or any game we play.

So, and its my opinion, keep the Illinois talk on the other Peoria board or an Illini board but on the Bradley Basketball board... no thanks.

I agree with ya... but since our series in the CBI with Tulsa and then learning of the possible matchup of Tulsa/UIUC in this tourney... I am pretty interested. The schadenfreude in me is hoping for a big Golden Hurricane to blow thru South Padre today!

UIUC wins a very good win ....

wow, Mac, you are really gettin' into the Illini...
and nope, Billy Cole didn't play again.......and in their first 5 games, he has played a grand total of 21 minutes.
And if he doesn't get playing time against Kent State, it won't get better when they play Purdue, Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Michigan State.
Maybe he'll get some minutes against Indiana.

Tulsa demolished A&M...A&M finished on a 20-8 run to make it look respectable at the end. Tulsa did it with defense as usual, holding A&M without a field goal for the first 12 minutes of the 2nd half. TU won easily despite their star 7-footer Jordan being plagued with serious foul trouble throughout.

Hopefully Tulsa can beat the Illini tonight as they continue to put the 1st half disaster at Oklahoma State behind them.
