Jordan can play the 5, but he is going to be a very good 4 for BU....this in my humble opinion....I think I said this a while back before he signed.....he has a nice mid range game...and has room to improve on the outside part of his game.....

thanks for that tidbit, thecoach......it would have been nice for Eureka to get a couple more wins but the foes were very good teams, and Eureka is one of the smaller schools (enrollment) in the TOCC, so they really did not embarrass themselves.
I sat near a whole lot of the East Peoria contingent last Wednesday, and even though EP beat Eureka by 18, the EP fans were wondering two things...
-one is how come they weren't winning by even more as Eureka is a far smaller school
-- and also why are we playing these guys, if we win everyone will say we are suppoed to, but this is a team that could have embarrassed us.

That is the beauty of any basketball tournament. You never know who is going to show up and play on any given night.
I would have thought East Peoria would have defeated Howe, based on the fact that the Raiders beat Eureka by 18 and St. Anne by 41....and Howe only beat Eureka by 8 and St. anne by 19. BUT...........Howe beats East Peoria by 25 and it could've been worse.
I just want to make one note: Every year the TOCC brings more and more fans to the event. It is starting to find its niche. Yes, there are moments during the day (especially Saturday morning/afternoon) where the crowd was sparse, but the other sessions were pretty darn impressive, especially the championship night! It was our best crowd ever!
As this tournament progresses, there is going to be a demand for seating one day. When I was with the St. Louis KMOX Shootout we had 2,000 fans the first year. Within 6 years, we were selling out Kiel Auditorium (10,500). Once the tournament gets wings, it is going to take off and tickets will become a premium. The City of Palms is the best tournament in the country and its gym (Bishop Verot H.S.) seats 1,500 people, and sometimes there is less than 30 people in the gym at one time. I feel we have made great strides and it is only going to get better.
I want to thank Bradleyfans.com for their support of our event, and I hope you appreciate the time and effort put into this event, and how we (the TOCC committee) are just trying to bring something to the Greater Peoria area that is unique, fun and filled with amazing talent.
The TOCC is a celebration of basketball. From the farm communities of Illinois to the Inner-City schools of our big cities. We want the TOCC to be the centerpiece of high school basketball and hopefully we are well on our way. Thanks again.

I really enjoyed the games I went to and I feel the event was very well run, well organized, and the only complaints I heard were about the parking and the distance people had to walk from where they parked their car.
But then that's because the games were GOOD and lots of people were there.
Keep it up, and start working now to get the best local teams to play there.
I know with the other local tournaments (Peoria Heights, Dunlap, etc..) there will always be competition for the good teams.
With Donivine Stewart just being a soph, I hope Limestone is in the tourney the next few years, but also see if you can get one of the Bloomington teams and maybe some more of the Chicago teams.

One more thing...
I saw where Van Coleman (Hoopmasters) had a couple writeups on his premium site about the TOCC, although he barely mentioned Eureka and Prosser.
However, neither scout.com (Dave Telep) or the entire Rivals.com recruiting network even made a mention of the TOCC.
In fact one guy on Telep's National Recruiting message board asked about the TOCC and his post got absolutely no response or answer from Telep.
I'd encourage you to use your connections and pull some strings and get those guys to cover the event and do a little writeup, as we can't see all the games and would enjoy what they might have to say about some of the ones we missed.

...this makes me happy..after watching all JP went throught to get off a shot or snare a rb and still end up getting the #'s....all the time while playing within his game is all that more impressive...JP will be popular on the hilltop..mark my words!

I can't wait to see JP. He really sounds like the real deal, and I really think we got a major steal in him committing to Bradley. If he keeps up his averages over the season there will be Big 10 coaches kicking themselves for not getting JP.Thinking is the hardest work, that is why so few people do it. -Henry Ford
Yeah...I've been in college for a while now and I'm pretty sure that awesomest is not a word. -Andrew E.

Prosser dunk....
one handed with the left hand, and if you stop the video at the time of the dunk,
you'll see he has the ball a full foot over the rim.
More Jordan Prosser highlights, and a little over a minute into this video is a dunk where
Jordan takes off from a flt-footed standstill, 8-10 feet away from the hoop and dunks over a defender
(the defender is Josh Brent, 6-3, now a starting defensive tackle at UIUC)

Van Coleman has a real nice writeup about the stars from the TOCC
I highlighted some of the top local kids.......
************
Reggie Bullock, Noel Johnson, Mike Shaw, Nolan Dennis, and Angus Brandt highlight top players,
but sleepers were the key to events success this past weekend…
The Trusted Choice Tournament of Champions is a fast growing event that is
only in its third year; and Tournament Director Shawn Powell has done an
excellent job of getting a solid balance of Illinois and National schools and
talent to Central Illinois at Thanksgiving. This year's group featured top ten
talent like Bullock and Shaw, but it was the large group of available sleepers
who made this event special for this talent evaluator. With that in mind
here's our look at the top prospects from this past weekend's Trusted Choice TOC:
Trusted Choice TOC Top Prospects – (Listed By Height)
Angus Brandt 6-9 PF Lake Forest Academy (IL) – He really picked it up on
Saturday, as he played with more aggression on both ends of court. He
scored 19 points and pulled down 12 boards versus Fayette County. He
definitely looked like the player that Georgia Tech, Michigan, Washington
State, Colorado, Oregon State, and New Mexico have been following.
Jordan Prosser 6-8 PF Eureka (IL) – This Bradley signee was rock solid at
TOC going for 23 points and 16 boards versus East Peoria, than followed it
up with 28 point and 15 board effort versus Indianapolis Howe. He's got a
great nose for ball off the glass and knows how to score around the hoop.
He will be a good one for Braves in the future
Mike Shaw 6-8 CF (2011) Chicago DeLaSalle (IL) – He is a very talented
forward who goes about his game with efficiency. He scored 14,12, and 11
points in just over half a game of playing time and with only nine shots a
game. He was at his best overall versus Richland adding 11 rebounds and 4
assists. He's almost too unselfish. Look for numbers to really explode as he
matures and recognizes when its time to take games over. All the majors
should be involved with this top ten sophomore.
Noel Johnson 6-7 WF Fayetteville Fayette County (GA) – He was stellar in
two of his three games this past weekend in Washington, IL, going for 26
points in the opener, then coming back for 35 versus Champaign Central on
Friday night. He put on a show in the second half with 30 points hitting
shots from NBA arc and finishing drive with highlight dunks in his team's
69-44 victory over Champaign Central. He has tools to become big-time
scorer at USC if he can turn effort up a notch
Markus Rodgers 6-7 WF (2010) Lake Forest Academy (IL) – He was one of
the finds at the TOC. He is long, lean and explosive around the hoop, but
needs to add strength to reach full potential. He had 14 points and 6 boards
versus Kinston while we watched. Look for mids-up to monitor his
development this winter.
Reggie Bullock 6-6 SG (2010) Kinston (NC) - He set a Trusted Choice TOC
record with his 36 point outburst (7 for 12 from three) versus Lake Forest
Academy (IL). North Carolina commit showed that he has matured into one
of the nation's top prospects period as he put on an MVP performance going
for 29 points (4 for 8 from three) in final versus Washington, IL! He has
excellent handle and can flat out score with jumper or attack hoop and finish
with highlights.
Nolan Dennis 6-5 CG North Richland (TX) Richland – This Memphis signee was
a steady performer scoring 24, 20, and 23 points in three outings at TOC. He
also pulled down 29 boards. He is an excellent open court handler who can
make pass or attack rim with explosion. He struggled from beyond arc (4 for
19 at TOC), but made up it at the line (17 for 23). If shot continues to
improve he could be a steal for the Tigers!
Andre Henley 6-5 WF (2011) Chicago DeLaSalle (IL) – He is one of the
fastest rising juniors in the USA, He can score with jumper off the dribble
inside arc or through down oop or drive. He had 20 points and 11 boards
versus Richland, look for high majors to be all over him next spring.
Malcolm Brogdon 6-4 WF (2010) Fayetteville Fayette County (GA) – This
young wing forward had 26 points and 11 boards in the opener, then
followed that up with 17 points and 10 boards versus tall Lake Forest club.
He has range to arc (3 for 4 in two games we watched), but is at his best
off dribble from 16-feet or finishing in the paint with strength. Mid & High
majors should be monitoring his development.
David Smith 6-4 CG Lake Forest Academy (IL) – Drake signee is a steady
leader on the court, he can play either guard spot, but was content to run
show for Lake Forest. He had 17 points and handed out 8 assists versus
Hales Franciscan. He needs to look for shot more, but has a style of game
that is consistent with recent Drake point men like Adam Emmenecker.
Andre Hampton 6-3 SG (2010) Indianapolis Howe (IN) – He was on fire
Saturday morning scoring 35 points including a tournament record 10-three
point goals in his team's 71-63 victory over Eureka (IL). He can create shot
with dribble of highlights with hops at the rim. He was solid throughout and
should draw mid-up looks.
Ben Worner 6-3 SG Washington (IL) – He went for 31 as he connected on 6
of 11 from three versus Fayette County in the opener. He followed that with
24 in final against Kinston. He can really stroke deep three, but showed he
can handle and pass well enough that he should draw mid-major looks this
winter.
Evan Richard 6-3 CG (2010) Cuba City, WI – This long range bombing junior
went for 28 points in game we watched at TOC, and he showed a
surprisingly athletic game, throwing down drive and pull-up jumper inside the
arc. He should see mids on up in the gym this winter.
Dyricus Simms-Edwards 6-3 SG Washington (IL) – He went for 33 and hit 11
of 12 from the line while handing out 7 assists versus Fayette County. He
added 19 points and 7 assists in final. He played hurt, as his left hand was
heavily wrapped all weekend, but still was the primary ballhandler for the
host club. He will see lots of high major interest this coming season.
DeMarius Sumrell 6-1 SG Bartonville Limestone (IL) – He was one of the
tournament's surprises as he can really attack the hoop off the dribble. He
has an explosive first step and finishes with highlight dunk or mid-range
jumper. He has ability to be a stopper on “D” (6 steals in opener) and is
already hearing from Utah, Marquette, and Western Illinois.
Derek Needham 6-0 PG Chicago DeLaSalle (IL) – This Fairfield signee has
tools to run show right away for the Stags. He had 21 points and handed
out 6 assists versus Cahokia. He can break the press, score when needed
from arc to the rim, or come up big on defensive end. Look for him to make a
huge impact as a freshman at Fairfield.
Donivine Stewart 6-0 PG (2011) Bartonville Limestone (IL) – Talented
sophomore didn't disappoint with his solid 16 point and 7 assist game versus
Rockwood Summit. He sees court and can create dribble drive and pass. Has
tools to be one of his class top points.
Jordan Davis 5-10 PG Tampa, FL Sickles Academy – He was one of the
biggest surprises at the event. He showed us why North Carolina signee John
Henson (injured) chose Sickles. He wanted to play with the best passer in
the Tampa area! Davis went for 13 points and handed out 9 assists (should
have had 4-5 more if teammates had finished lay-ins) versus Cahokia. He
can flat out handle and pass rock. Look for this junior to draw mid & high
major interest this winter and next spring.
Alvin “P.J.” Boutte 5-9 PG (2011) Indianapolis Howe (IN) – This young point
did good job handling ball and setting up half-court game. He can score (in
double figures every game), but is at his best passing rock, like he did
against versus Eureka where he handed out 7 assists. He will only get
better, do mids-up should be monitoring his progress.
