I am at the 1:00 game between Tampa Sickles and Cahokia. Perhaps the best player in the tournament, John Henson of Sickles has not played at all. I did a quick search and found that he sprained an ankle in a game they played Tuesday. I assume that's why he's not playing.

Surprisingly, Cahokia is staying with Sickles, rated as one of the best teams in the country. Cahoki has a bunch of very good athletes. The game is tied 50-50 with a little more than 5 minutes to go in the 4th quarter.

Jordan Prosser's Eureka team plays Howe Academy of Indianapolis next, at 3:00. The game was projected to feature a good matchup between Prosser and Howe's great 6'9" junior named Jordan Manuel. But because of some transfer issues, he has not been ruled eligible to play yet by the IHSAA, according to the latest news articles-

I'll have a report on the game and how Prosser did later.

Cahokia upset Tampa Sickles with a great husting effort, good shooting and good rebounding.

Howe Academy and Eureka are on the floor warming up. Even without Jordan Manuel, they are a team with a lot of athletic kids, and a number of other big kids. Eureka will have a tough time again with this team.

I been thinking about what I like most in watching JP the other night....he really seems to play under control no-matter what else is going on...that really stood out and his jumper is very good..soft hands as they say!

Howe leads Eureka 22-17 after 1 quarter.
The Howe team is very quick, but tends to overplay everything on defense, so Eureka was able to get good shots with their passing game. Howe also appears to settle for long jump shots instead of trying for higher percentage shots. So far they have made a bunch of them
Jordan has 1 basket and a couple rebounds, so far.

Jordan scored the first 2 baskets for Eureka in the 2nd quarter, both on nice inside moves, shooting with his left hand. Josh Prosser also made a nice dribble drive.
The Howe team has continued to launch long shots, but they have made 4 of them. the score is now 31-23. Jordan has also picked up a couple more rebounds.

Howe continued their hot shooting, while Eureka had trouble getting shots to go down. They ran out to a 34-23 lead.

Jordan Prosser just grabbed a rebound above the rim and slammed it down. But they dropped back into a zone, and now Howe is just holding the ball out high. Finally after more than a mniute of stalling, Eureka came out of their zone and forced Howe to play. They sunk another 3-pointer to make it 37-25.

Howe is now pressing and Eureka is having trouble with their quickness.
They turned the ball over, and Howe stalled out the half with no more scoring.

Halftime score 37-25. I think Prosser has 8 points and around 6 rebounds.

                    Second half-
Jordan was fouled on anice move to the basket and made both free throws. He also has a block and a couple rebounds.
Then Eureka has sunk 2-2 from three to cut the lead to 37-35.

JP just made another layup, and on the next possession was fouled and made 1-2 free throws. I think he has 13 points now.
Howe continues their good shooting and they still lead 48-44.

Howe has a guard named Andre Hampton who has been on fire from three. He's made about 6 or 7 of them, and Howe leads 55-46.

Now 57-46 after 3 quarters; Jordan is getting double teamed every possession.

I miscounted- Andre Hampton has 9 3-pointers already.

Eureka cut the lead to 57-49 with under 6 min to play.

But Hampton just hit his 10th 3-pointer.

Jordan Prosser with a couple nice baskets- he has 11 points this half, I think for a total of around 19 points and he has to be close to double digits for rebounds.

Score now 61-53 with JP going to the free throw line for 2.

He made 2-2 to cut the lead to 61-55- JP now with 21 points.

Howe stalled until Eureka pressed, and they scored a basket, but JP came back with another basket, too. Score 63-57 with 2:50 to go in the game.
