This was a post from back in July of 2006, as Missouri State locked in on Kenneth Holdman for the Class of 2008.
BUT.................all of a sudden, after two years, looks like Holdman is NOT coming to Missouri State.
The kid is fully qualified, highly regarded, and pledged to Missouri State, but...
he and his family are a little perturbed that when Barry Hinson was fired and Cuonzo Martin took over,
that the new coach, Martin, apparently never even bothered to give the kid a phone call and tell him he was still wanted.
So I guess the kid feels snubbed and is looking elsewhere.
Sure looks like Coach Martin has tried to call him. This from the article you linked:
Bears coach Cuonzo Martin was vacationing with his family on Wednesday but issued a statement through MSU sports information director Mark Stillwell: “We have called Ken and his dad any number of times lately and they have not returned our calls.” Martin also said he had to drive to Tulsa to obtain a copy of Holdman’s transcript.
So now we have another Coach Said / Player & Dad are saying something else situation.
These are becoming more and more common involving MVC schools.
But wouldn't you think the onus is upon Cuonzo to get in contact with Holdman if he still wants the kid, not the other way around, and certainly not just leaving voice messages?
Even if what Martin says is true, he apparently never actually got hold of the recruit and maybe just left messages,
all the while the kid must have been expecting something a little more personalized.

Yeah, I am sure Martin didn't really want this kid. I am sure Martin loves to drive 3 hours (180 some miles) from Springfield to Tulsa just to get a copy of Holdman??™s transcript.

From what I understand, the kid wants to play DI football, said it in a Oklahoma Newspaper which really pi*&ed Martin off.
This after Martin had to drive to Tulsa to make sure the fricking kid passed all his classes, which was in doubt.
I got a pretty a good source who says Martin would like to put a hit out on this kid and his father.
