  • ETSU Game

Thought I would start a little friendly banter in anticipation for our upcoming matchup. Noticed tonight that you squeaked by FGCU, which was a little shocking to me given that they're bottom feeders in our league and newbies to D1. Not that we can talk, we squeaked by SIU-Edwardsiville who are also D1 newbies. As the cliche' goes, sometimes a win is a win so I don't want to look too much into your narrow win tonight, but I did want to ask how your season is going thus far?

We've been hit with the injury bug early this season but have seemed deep enough to play pretty solid ball. Our toughest opponent thus far has been Temple, who we battled to a 14-pt loss. Our most recent victory was against Tennesse Tech who we beat handily at their house.

You guys are obviously extremely tough at home, and that may prove to be the difference. However, I think this game is going to be within 5 points, hopefully in our favor.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

I think the game is gonna be rough.

We have some injuries being nursed and some growing pains felt every game.

(with a shrug of the shoulders.... and a "Hmmmm" - I'd put this at a Pik'em)

    Good luck to you guys.

I'll be at the game with my oldest son and I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to it or not! Just kidding....it's been a rough couple days in these parts. I am looking forward to seeing Egolf play some extended minutes again and hopefully continue to improve. I'll also have the Prouty numbers for both teams up for comparison later this week.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

FWIW I expect a low student turnout due to Thanksgiving break running until classes start Monday.

we already have our hyphenated loss...I wouldn't be surprised to add a directional but think we get better at home on saturday.

I'll have to give you some credit, Tenn tech was very good last year and Temple is picked right behind Xavier in a tough A10... I think my take of BU this year is they are still looking for themselves. Every game so far has looked like the first time these guys have played together. Passes get thrown to the refs and out of bounds, teams do layup drills against us and get a lot of open looks. This team has no cohesiveness, they are a work in process. Hopefully all they need is a little home cookin. Good luck and I hope your team has a safe trip. The game is not televised locally, but you and pick it up off the internet.

We always look forward to friendly banter on this site and any insight into your team will be greatly appreciated. Our team as you can see from the other posts is a team in process and with our best player out for the foreseeable future, so every night is an adventure. I expect us right now to be a 2nd half of the season type team. If one of our bigs show up and we get someone hot from the outside then we should be tough to beat but who isn't then. I expect us to be a bit more consistent at home so there is a better probability that our team shows up and this game will probably come down to the last few minutes.
