sad to see the game finish like that - Lanphier sinks 3 of 4 FT in the final 0.6 sec to win 62-59

Decatur MacArthur won last night 62-36 over Springfield Sacred Heart Griffin
they led 36-8 when the starters began getting rested

ex-ISU player Tarise Bryson was acting head coach as Ron Ingram was sitting out with illness

there are some video highlights

Decatur really has good preps coverage - something we sorely lack

The Saturday night game (6:30pm) between MacArthur & Lanphier does not appear to be on any local Springfield radio,
but this appears to be a link that offers it via internet audio streaming
https://scorestream.com/game/lanphie...arthur-1650671
or here - http://www.sportsradio1450.com/podcast-play-by-play/

This also is a streaming service, but hard to tell what they have upcoming - but they had the Lanphier Varsity Girls last night
and they had the Southeast/MacArthur game from December and the Lanphier/MacArthur game from last February

also, you can purchase it on video

MacArthur hosts #1 ranked Springfield SE tonight
One of the links above may carry the game but I do not know for sure at this time

I'm really excited about Brummett. I just have a feeling he's going to be a special player at Bradley. Just a hunch.

The little video of Armon I’ve seen makes me think he has the potential to be okay, but no guarantees he’ll be great or even good right away. I like to think I’m okay at predicting good players, most recently thinking that DLo was the best recruit from that class and Eli was a real difference maker.

I’m especially hesitant to anoint players I haven’t seen conclusive evidence on who put up good results because of tramique sutherland who put up triple doubles regularly. I can’t tell if Armon will be great, good, or below average, but my first instinct is he’ll be good but not the difference maker we need next year. I hope I’m wrong but he isn’t the outstanding player I am so wishful for our recruiting class.

I understand that sentiment. But instead of recruiting more guards who are inconsistent, not very athletic, and become role players, and I'd rather see us take a chance on a kid who could become a special player. I am not saying he will, only that he possesses the athleticism to get there.

At this point in our rebuild, absolutely. Like the cardinals, we need some A+ potential home run prospects, not C-grade wonít lose but wonít necessarily win guys. Iím not lamenting the Brummett commitment, merely pumping my brakes on getting too high on him. I like him as a player, donít love him.

Decatur MacArthur upset Springfield Southeast HS tonight 74-65. Springfield Southeast is the #1 ranked team in the state in Class 3A according to the AP rankings that came out this week.
Southeast is also the #1 seeded team in the Class 3A Decatur MacArthur state regional that begins Feb. 27. MacArthur is the #4 seeded team, but they will be playing on their home court.

Amir Brummett had 25 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals, and Armon Brummett had 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals.

Wow! Maybe Amir will have second thoughts and consider playing basketball instead of football.
