Default Exhibition games...

exhibition games are starting...Bradley plays tomorrow...

Toledo LOST their first exhibition game last night 89-86 at DII Findlay.
Their next exhibition is against DIII Trine, so maybe they can pick up a win..
Former Bradley recruits Nate Navigato & Justin Roberts scored 10 & 0 pts respectively.
Toledo also was led by a grad transfer from Colorado Tre'Shaun Fletcher.
http://utrockets.com/documents/2017/..._Toledo_86.pdf

Youngstown State played EIGHTEEN different players in their lopsided win over someone named "Thiel"...a game they led by as many as 48.
Their top player in the game, Naz Bohannon with 13 pts/11 rebs/7 asst is from Lorain High School, the town in Ohio where ex-Bradley Brave Andy Bastock was from. He also coached at Lorain High School.

Here's an odd outcome...
Iona hosted Army...but with about 15 minutes to go, the floor was so slippery that they called off the game and sent everyone home!!
Army was leading at that point 63-61, so I guess they win!
Iona guard Zach Lewis, a grad transfer from UMass had 27 points with 15 minutes to go!!

And now even though it is an exhibition game who would have thunk it? Brad Underwood is taking the Illini on the road to Charleston to play Eastern Illinois this week.

And to think some of our fans are upset because the Braves had a tough game with Lewis. It's only exhibition games folks.

I know it's not always an accurate comparison -- but we played Lewis about the same as Loyola did and some have Loyola picked to win the MVC...
btw- Loyola's top 7 guys played 20-26 minutes/per game while we had only one guy over 18 minutes.

Indiana drew 17K for their exhibition win over NAIA Marian, 93-62 - ex-BU recruit Freddie McSwain playing 15 minutes- 4 pts/4 reb

Future Bradley opponent Vermont (Nov. 17 in the Bahamas) played another exhibition and clobbered Concordia (a Canadian team) 92-64
They hit 51.9% from 3-pt range including 10-16 in the first half!
http://www.uvmathletics.com/boxscore...32&path=mbball

In their two exhibitions now, they are 20-41 (48.8%) from 3-pt range

Illinois State had a closed scrimmage over the weekend against Saint Louis..
There are a couple ISU fans who have posted that the game was close but that ISU lost by 6 with their new juco kid scoring 14 and Bruninga 8

Saint Louis coach Travis Ford talked to the media about the scrimmage- Saint Louis rebounded well and grabbed 14 offensive rebounds
and he noted they did not defend the 3-point shot well.

MVC conference mate Valparaiso is playing Robert Morris right now -- and interestingly
at the 12 minute mark in the1st half the score is Valpo 20 - RMU 14
The score here last night at the 12 min mark was BU 21 - RMU 14

but you'd think Valpo will pull away since Robert Morris is playing on back to back nites on the road - they gotta be gassed.....

update...
Bradley had a 20 point lead in the final minute of the first half against RMU - 50-30
Right now Valpo has a 19 pt lead in the final minute of the 1st half vs. RMU - 50-31

Halftime at BU the score was BU 51 - RMU 30
Halftime @ Valpo the score is Valpo 54 - RMU 36 ...nearly identical
http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=194904

looks like an easy win for Valpo as RMU has already been whistled for 20 fouls to just 8 for Valpo

btw- the Valpo-Robert Morris game is on ESPN3 if anyone wants to watch it...

Valpo leads by 23 - the exact 67-44 score that BU had against RMU at about the same point in the 2nd half

addendum- refs have already called 28 personal fouls on Robert Morris & Valpo has shot 32 FT attempts!!! ...and there's still almost 10 minutes to go!!
So with all the stoppages and FT's the score's really getting run up...

Right now it's 88 - 56 almost identical to the final score (87-57) last night - but there's still 7 minutes to go- Valpo's gonna go over 100, now 5 different RMU players have 4 fouls - and now all the RMU guys either can't play defense cuz they have 4 fouls or they can't move and are just leaning over grabbing their shorts cuz they're gassed and outta wind......Valpo's well rested and running out to a 40-pt lead now..

Future Bradley opponent Mississippi State beat West Florida 87-62-
http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=191748

Other exhibitions:

Potential 2nd round BU opponent in Bahamas - Coastal Carolina beats South Carolina State 83-69

Minnesota 106 - Concordia 58 - Reggie Lynch 9 pts, 3 rebs off the bench

Auburn lost to DII Barry 100-95 (the Live Stats/Gametracker link below says 99-95, but I think the 100-95 score is correct) ..Bruce Pearl gotta be on the hot seat playing this bad against a weak DII-
http://www.auburntigers.com/gametrac...&startschool=&

Drake transfer Johannes Dolven has 2 pts and 5 fouls off the bench for Barry
Lowest attendance BY FAR for any game in the Bruce Pearl era-

In that win by DII Barry over Auburn - one kid on Barry stood out...

Sawyer Glick, a junior for Barry scored 32 points, going 8-16 from the 3-point arc also filling the stat sheet as well.
He is a 6-5 shooting guard from Columbus IN (just south of Indy on I-65) who got no recruiting interest out of high school, so he went to Quakerdale Prep & still got no interest (presumably since he's not all that "athletic") - so he went to a low level NAIA, hit 43% from long distance and averaged 16 ppg as a freshman.

That got him some calls so he transferred to Barry - a solid DII program - currently ranked #11 in the D2 preseason poll.
Last year he had a great sophomore season hitting 42% from the arc & 87% from the FT line and helping Barry to great season...now he's starting off this year (his junior year) impressively.

..but this kid would do well at DI and our staff oughta keep an eye on him so that if/when he becomes a grad transfer (possibly at the end of this season)- he might consider coming to DI without sitting out.
He did not play for Indiana Elite (BU assistant Drew Adams' team) but he sure played against them and in many tournies with them while playing AAU ball in Indiana - so our guys surely know the kid. PS- it doesn't hurt that he has a 3.5 GPA.

Here's evidence our staff spends a lot of time over in Indiana!!

Two players we likely are watching there:

2020 Trey Galloway - LINK

a few exhibitions of note - all fairly low scoring games...

Illini 42 - EIU 38 at half - freshman Mark Smith playing well, 12 pts but just one asst & no rebounds

Future BU opponent Little Rock 38 - Southwest Baptist 33 at half

Future BU opponent Georgia Southern 88 - Augusta 67 final - http://www.augustajags.com/sports/mb...71103_z5kr.xml

Future BU opponent IUPUI 65 - Carroll 56 final - both teams shot poorly - http://www.sidearmstats.com/iupui/mbball/

amazing-
you got 4 main guys - Alstork, Frazier, Williams and Lucas who contributed next to nothing except a whole bunch of turnovers and fouls

they have a long way to go...taking way too many bad shots early in the possession

future BU opponent Little Rock won 84-68

Indiana State beat Marian 84-64
balanced scoring
