Jimmy Gavin scored 38 points off the bench tonight for Winthrop, as they battled North Carolina State from start to finish, but lost 87-79.

Wow! This kind of sums up the Geno Ford era.

Geno Ford never gave Jimmy Gavin a chance. He started him in one game and did well but hardly ever played him after that

but that's not the only miss by Geno - wasn't our staff in pretty tight with Fred Van Vleet then Geno arrived and even tho Willie Scott has a great relationship - Geno cut him off cold and went a different direction - ultimately landing Anthony Fields as the PG of the future

Yes. I heard from a highly reliable source that the Van Vleet family wanted to come to Bradley but Geno did not want him. Later in the summer of 2012 he blew up and ended up committing to WSU.

It's really amazing (and telling) when you look at the level that this collective group of "players" ended up finishing their careers at.

Dayton played an exhibition Friday night against University of Findlay.
Findlay lead by as much as 16 points in the first half, and held a lead until the mid second half. Dayton then pulled ahead and held on for a relatively close win 76-69-
http://www.daytonflyers.com/boxscore...mbball&id=4082

Josh Cunningham started and had 18 points on 7-10 shooting, and 5 rebounds in 24 minutes of play. He fouled out late in the game.

Here are how the Bradley Braves transfers who still have eligibility left at other colleges are doing:

Kendahl Amerson, who left after the 2014-15 season and transferred to Division II University of Central Oklahoma, played last season there as a junior and averaged 12.0 ppg in 21 games (2nd leading scorer on the team). He shot 36.8% on threes.
However, he was dismissed from the team, left school, and did not play the final month of the season. He did not return to the team this season, and there is no word where is is. He does not appear to be playing his final season of eligibility anywhere.

Josh Cunningham is a redshirt-sophomore at Dayton. After sitting out last season, he tore a ligament in his left ankle and inred his knee, and has not played since their 2nd game of the season. He averaged 12.5 ppg and 4.5 rpg in the 2 games he played.

Jordan Swopshire is now a junior at Colgate. In 13 games, he is averaging 11.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg, and 37.1% from three. Colgate is 2-11 (1-11 against D1) and RPI of 341.

Warren Jones is a redshirt-senior at Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has played in 10 of their 13 games (no word why he has missed 3 games), and has not started any games. He is averaging 8.9 ppg and shooting only 28.9% from three.

Xzavier Taylor is now a redshirt junior at IPFW. He has played in all 14 of their games so far, but has not started any. He averages 6.3 ppg (6th on the team) and 2.5 rpg (6th on the team).

Joel Okafor is a sophomore at Indiana Wesleyan (Division II NAIA). Because he transferred to NAIA level, he was not required to sit out a year. IWU is 14-2 and ranks among the top D2 NAIA schools. The team has a bunch of juniors and seniors, so Joel has not played much. He has played in 14 games and averages 8.4 mpg, 2.0 ppg, 2.1 rpg, and 1.7 apg.

Davante Cooper is a sophomore at Tyler Junior College in Texas. Tyler is 10-0 and one of the top ranked jucos in the country. Davante has started all 10 of their games, and averages 5.3 ppg and 7.2 rpg, which leads the team. He is shooting 44.9% overall, is 0-2 from three, and is 47.4% on FTs.

Stefan Zezevic is a senior at NAIA Keiser University in Florida. They are 11-2. He has played in 13 games, started 12, and averages 12.8 ppg (3rd on the team), 6.9 rpg (2nd on the team), but he is only shooting 20% from three (4-20).

Scottie James at a sophomore at Liberty University, and is sitting out this year after transferring.

I think every other recent transfer finished out their eligibility.
If I am missing anyone, let me know.

Warren Jones was out a few games with an ankle injury

"Senior guard Warren Jones returned after missing the previous three games with a sprained ankle sustained at Kansas State on Nov. 30. Jones entered
with 14:16 left in the first half and hit a 3-pointer on his first attempt. He played 11 minutes.
“He has practiced, but he has to get back into game shape,” Darner said. “I wasn’t planning on subbing him right away, I was going to wait. But we went
so long without a media timeout that I thought our guys were tired.
“We have to get him going here because we are going to need him down the stretch."

Two other guys that were still playing this year...
Jalen Crawford - after sitting out two seasons, is now finishing his career as a 6th year senior at Fort Valley State (DII).
He is one of their top players - 12.8 ppg LINK

Devon Hodges (now goes by Devon Friend) started the season at Lindenwood-Belleville, but after playing two games, is apparently gone from the squad.
Averaged 2 ppg, 1.5 rpg

Davante's updated stats...
4.7 ppg, 40.6% FG shooting, 40% FT shooting, 6.4 rpg
..gotta wonder what Washington State was thinking...

An updated look at how the Bradley Braves transfers who are still playing this season at other colleges are doing:

Note that Kendahl Amerson and Josh Cunningham are no longer playing this season as noted above in post #36.
Scottie James is sitting out this season, and will play at Liberty University starting next season.

Jordan Swopshire is in his junior season at Colgate. They are 8-17, and 6-6 in the Patriot League, tied for 6th. Their RPI is 301 now.
In 25 games, Swopshire is the 3rd leading scorer for Colgate with an average of 9.4 ppg. He is shooting 37.4% from three. He is their 2nd leading rebounder with 4.6 rpg.

Warren Jones is a redshirt-senior at Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has played in 21 of their 24 games, and has not started any games. He is averaging 10.4 ppg and has raised his 3-point shooting to 42.1%.

Xzavier Taylor is in his redshirt junior season at IPFW. He has played in all 23 of their games so far, but has not started any. His averages have dropped slightly to 5.4 ppg (6th on the team) and 2.3 rpg (6th on the team). In Horizon League games he is playing fewer minutes and his averages are 4.0 ppg & 1.6 rpg.

Joel Okafor is a sophomore at Indiana Wesleyan (Division II NAIA). . IWU is 20-6, and 10-4 in their conference, and continues to rank among the top D2 NAIA schools. Joel's playing time and averages have dropped off a bit, and are now at 7.4 mpg, 1.7 ppg, 1.6 rpg, and 1.5 apg.

Davante Cooper is a sophomore at Tyler Junior College in Texas. Tyler is 18.3 and one of the top ranked jucos in the country. Davante has been a starter all season, and averages 4.7 ppg and 5.9 rpg, which is now 3rd on the team. He is shooting has dropped off to 40.2% overall, and 39.5% on FTs.

Stefan Zezevic is a senior at NAIA Keiser University in Florida. They are 19-7. He has played in 26 games, started 25 of them, and averages 12.3 ppg (3rd on the team), 7.2 rpg (2nd on the team). His 3-point shooting has improved to 32.2% (19-59)
