Default Signings

Do we still expect to have a couple of signings in this fall period?

the signing period ends tomorrow, so I expect now we won't sign anyone this fall....
we might get a commitment between now & spring then sign 2 or 3 in the spring

Bradley had been recruiting 6-2 combo guard out of Rockford Kenny Strawbridge
http://bradleyfans.com/vb/showthread.php?t=26490

and I haven't heard much lately on him...he was out most of the summer and didn't play AAU ball due to injury but in fall leagues he's showing he's
recovered nicely... LINK ...........but his sister sure had a heck of a game for Loyola Women's Basketball - 32 points

Default Winning Will Help

Ok on signings. If we can show improvement for the 3rd year in a row, it will help us. I am thinking Coach Wardle might be raising his sights for talent. That also makes it more difficult.

Fact is, and Coach Wardle has said so, we did miss on a couple of our top targets who committed elsewhere....
then a few of the remaining top targets had already declared they were not going to sign in the fall and will wait 'til spring....
so Coach doesn't wanna lock up the two open scholarships now if we have a better chance of getting what we need in the spring.

I think Coach Wardle has a real eye for talent and good kids. I'd love to see a few Mitchell Andersons, David Thirdkills or Hersey Hawkins on the team of course. Wow!

If you watch that video - I have little doubt he's gonna get a lot of high major offers..

Tim Finke of Champaign Central - I don't think Bradley was recruiting him...
and he was getting big time offers (Illini, DePaul, K-State, Iowa State, Notre Dame, Oregon..)- and was at one time ranked Top 25, and 5-Star..
Just verbaled to Grand Canyon University...

Wow, I did not see that coming. However, that may be a good fit for him.

I agree. I'd like to see more higher-level recruits choose mid-major schools to play at. And note one other thing that might have played a part in his decision-
the head coach at Grand Canyon is Dan Majerle, a former 14 year NBA player and 3 time All Star who was a player with very similar size and skills that Finke has.

Bradley offers another 2018 juco kid

6-6 SF Marlon Taylor from Panola College
http://www.jucorecruiting.com/marlontaylor

Averaging 16.1 ppg and 9.4 rpg
http://www.jucorecruiting.com/news_a...ent-taking-off
http://njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/2017-18...rlontaylorjpvn

"Panola College’s Marlon Taylor is probably the most athletic player in Junior College."

One player we were involved with in 2016 and OFFERED, Richardson Maitre, is currently a sophomore at Indian Hills (juco)
but after a good summer, he is currently out for several weeks with a broken foot - so I do not know Bradley's current level of involvement
Even without their starting point guard Maitre, IHCC is off to a 6-0 start so I have to believe the Bradley coaches are keeping an eye on some players there.
A Canarias grad (where Luuk played) Ivan Aurreocochia is averaging 12.2 ppg/8.2 rpg & a 6-5 PG from Italy Thomas Woldetensae is averaging 10.5 ppg/5.2 apg as a freshman, and an athletic 6-7 F Jamel Allen is averaging 12 ppg/5 rpg

It says Taylor has a 50" vertical. I don't know who measured it however 50" is getting up in the air.

a 50" vertical is pretty unlikely
In all the history of the NBA Draft combine going back 30 years....
the very best players have all been measured, and nobody has ever had better than a 46" vertical.
And fewer than a dozen have ever exceeded 44"
