Ryan Stipanovich is coached at DeSmet HS by former Missouri State and NBA player Blake Ahearn. He is the nephew of former University of Missouri and Indiana Pacers player Steve Stipanovich.

I was just talking to a co-worker who is a basketball junkie. He goes to a lot of high school games and watched Stipanovich play 5 or 6 times last year.
I thought I'd share his take.
He thinks this is a very good signing for us.
He says Ryan has a very good skill set. But he will not be the most athletic guy on the court.
He thinks this may be why he did not get higher offers. A lot of scouting happens during AAU and the guys who can fly up and down the court are the ones that really stand out. That is not Stipanovich.
Even if he plays a 2.. he will probably have to guard a 3 and may struggle there against really athletic guys.
But again, he used the term "highly skilled", he really likes his game and thinks this is a very good signing for the Braves.

Ryan Stipanovich was named to all tournament team at the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame Classic tournament at Parkview High School in Springfield, MO.

Ryan helped carry his team (St. Louis DeSmet HS) to a 2nd place finish in the 8-team early season annual tournament-

Here is a summary of their first round win in which Ryan had to leave the game in the 3rd quarter because of a facial laceration. He returned to play in their other 2 games.
