Some updates on former Braves....

Jake Eastman has a new position - a promotion from the Boston Celtics' organization...
Jake is now Assistant General Manager of the Maine Red Claws - the D-League affiliate of the Celtics..

Hersey Hawkins' name was brought up as Philly Sixers' Hollis Thompson is flirting with cracking the TOP THREE all time Sixers in 3-poiint shooting - one of whom is Hersey.
http://www.phlsportsnation.com/2016/...ixers-history/

Hersey, btw, does NOT own the Bradley freshman record for 3-pointers made - simply because the 3-point shot did not exist in NCAA Division I until Hersey's junior year.
Our leading FRESHMAN 3-point shooter Luuk van Bree currently has 34 made 3-pointers... He needs 21 more to equal Bradley's all time record for freshman of 55, held currently by...
SAM MANISCALCO!
Luuk would need to make more than two per game on average thru the end of the season to catch Sammy

Aba Koita - now head coach of French pro team Quomodo- USV Re Basket
http://club.quomodo.com/usv-re-baske...2015-2016.html

The Chicago Bulls' Jimmy Butler's recent 53 point game sparked NUMEROUS mentions in the press of one other former Bradley Brave...
Chet Walker previously held the 2nd best spot in the Bulls' record books with a 56 point game in 1972
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports...114-story.html

Will Egolf's gonna be Best Man in his brother's wedding.

Bradley star and long time Harlem Globetrotter Bobby Joe Mason will be honored in Centralia, IL's WALL of HONOR.....
"...Bobby Joe Mason, an outstanding athlete who played at Bradley University and with the Harlem Globe Trotters.
He was known for letting young people know they could achieve anything in life if they set their sights on it.
A foundation has been created to further the legacy of Bobby Joe and to inspire young people to reach for the stars."

" honored individuals (in this case Bobby Joe's family) will be presented to the public on February 14th at three pm
at the Centralia Youth Center at 12-24 East Rexford Street. They will receive a wall plaque in honor of the recognition
while another plaque will be mounted on the Wall of Honor at the Centralia Community Youth Center. "

http://www.wjbdradio.com/LocalNews/S...r#.VrD0icYrLIU

In addition to Chet - THREE other past Braves have also been honored as all time greats in Michigan...
Willie Betts, Ernie Thompson, and LC Bowen.
http://www.bcam.org/content/2015-ret...list-announced

Patrick O'Bryant voted to the starting lineup of his league's ALL STAR game - something very few US players get!!
http://taipeitimes.com/News/sport/ar.../31/2003638471

Will Franklin has led his team, Oradea to first place!
averages 10 pts/5 reb/5 asst

and we were the first to break the news of Andrew Warren signing with his new team...but this week he had a really great all-around game..
He had 13 pts, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 steals and a block in just 22 minutes, leading his team to a 133-69 win...
Since Andrew joined Sigal (4-0) they are undefeated and winning by an average margin of 51 points per game!!!!! (they were just 2-4 in their prior 6 games)

Luuk made two 3-pointers last nite, so he now has 36...
19 more to tie the freshman record...
But we have only 8 remaining games guaranteed this season...and maybe one or so more if we get hot at the end..so Luuk needs to nail 3 per game

Danny Granger is now the CBSSports expert commentator on TEAM CHEMISTRY
http://nscontent.news-sentinel.com/?...cers-chemistry

Here Danny Granger tells a story of how when he got traded to the Clippers - the very first game he was dressed & ready to play - he had to vacate the court and watch the game from the lockerroom, because a mistake by some staffer had left his name off the official roster that was submitted to the officials before the game.
https://twitter.com/nbatv/status/684943743632322561

BTW - one other well known past Brave recently got inducted into a prestigious Hall of Fame!

...and bad news for Omari Grier....SPORTING NEWS article calling Rutgers "a laughingstock" when one of his teammates rebounds a live ball and flips it to a ref standing out of bounds.

There was a major earthquake in Taiwan yesterday...
a 6.4 quake that crumbled buildings.....
it occurred in the far southern tip of Taiwan where Patrick O'Bryant plays professionally...

however - POB plays in Taipei - clear at the northern end of Taiwan and about 200 miles away

In SuperLeague play (Championship Tourney of Kosovo), Andrew Warren's team Sigal Prishtina played a really tight, exciting game against top ranked KB Peja.

"The most dramatic match in history of Kosovan basketball was played last night
in the Final Four 2016 final match between KB Peja and Sigal Prishtina.

The match has been tied in the end of every quarter ...."
and a steal & 3-pointer at the buzzer won it for Sigal...

Andrew Warren was top scorer with 16 pts!!
http://basketball.eurobasket.com/tea...o/KB-Peja/4919

Here's a video of the final seconds...the ref gets pretty excited - wish I knew what he says

Scroll to the final 10-15 seconds of this video to watch Andrew Warren (#13 in white jersey) really celebrate!!!

They just won a couple games ago 133-69 then over the weekend they beat Kerasan 142-58!!! (in which Andrew went for 17 pts, 4-6 on 3-pointers, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals and only one turnover in 27 minutes)

We know Willie Scott is having a great year - his squad just barely got edged out of their tourney by the #9 ranked team in the nation - but a lot of promise...it would be nice to see Willie here...

Anyone catch the Zach Andrews episode on TruTV last night?

Well - here's a link if you want to watch it - it obviously was filmed several months ago when Zach was playing for the LA D-Fenders

http://www.trutv.com/shows/hack-my-l...l-blow-up.html

Zach delivers the best line in the whole segment...
"Nobody wants their balls overcooked"...(you gotta see the episode)
