Default Final score: Bradley 67 Eastern Illinois 56

Bradley's next game is against Eastern Illinois, Friday, Dec. 1, 7:00 PM, at Carver Arena.
This game will be telecast live on NBC Sports Chicago Plus+ Network.
On the Comcast cable system in the Peoria area, that is channels 102 and 285 (HD). and 1255 (HD)
On i3 Broadband cable, it is channels 94 and 494 (HD).

It is also listed on the Bradley website as available on ESPN3.com-
http://www.espn.com/watch/schedule/?...&type=upcoming

It is possible that since it is on the NBCSports Channel, that the ESPN3 video stream might be blacked out in some areas, as has been done in past years when games are telecast by the MVC-TV network.

Bradley is 6-1, with an RPI of 41.
EIU was picked 6th out of 12 teams in the Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Poll-
http://ovcsports.com/news/2017/10/17...-the-year.aspx

EIU is currently 2-4 after their overtime loss at Marquette Monday night. Their RPI is now 232.

They did have an impressive exhibition win over Illinois in early November-

Roster-

Their leading scorer through their 6 games has been 6'4" wing Jajuan Starks, a junior from Wabash Valley CC in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, who averages 16.8 ppg and is shooting 41.2% from three through their first 6 games. He also leads the team in rebounding with 6.3 rpg.
Their 2nd and 3rd leading scorers are the top 2 returning scorers from last year's team- 6'2" senior shooting guard Montell Goodwin (9.8 ppg) and 5'7" senior PG Terrell Lewis (9.3 ppg, a team-leading 5.2 apg, and 46.7% on threes). Fourth in scoring is 6'2" SG D'Angelo Jackson, a strong 6'4" juco transfer guard from Highland CC in Freeport, Illinois, who was a 2nd team NJCAA All-American and who averaged over 20 ppg last year at Highland CC. He is averaging 9.2 ppg and 3.6 rpg. Coach Wardle is a bit familiar with him as he is originally from Racine, Wisconsin and was an All State player his junior and senior years. Their other regular starter is 6'9" senior forward Muusa Dama who averages 7.3 ppg and 5.2 rpg.

They launch a lots of three point shots (over 21 per game), and they make 37.0% of them.

I know it is early, but we have done an incredibly better job this year defending the 3-pt shot than in the past few years...

Our current 3-pt shooting defense is .259...and I know it's early and that can change...
But - compare to how poorly we defended 3-pt shooting the past few years...

2016-17 .342
2015-16 .345
2014-15 .358
2013-14 .326
2013-13 .354
2011-12 .361

we are currently way better than even the best year we had this past decade since the 3-pt arc distance was changed (.308 in 2010)

Eastern's JaJuan Starks looks really good. He has 26 points and 8 rebounds.
Former Bradley recruit Sam Hauser has single-handedly kept Marquette in the game with 25 points, 5-9 from three, and the 2 free throws that tied the game with 9 seconds left.

Gotta contain Dama. Very good "big" that moves well and rebounds well and taps out rebounds.

Yes, he looked very good tonight, and was better than any of Marquette's big men. He is skinny, but very athletic, and was able to get inside and hurt Marquette with his offensive rebounding. He fouled out with a few minutes remaining in regulation, and that hurt EIU. I think they would have won if he had been able to stay in the game. They don't have any depth inside. When Dama was off the floor, they played 6'5" kids on the inside.

Default Dama vs Bar or Barker

I turned the game on right before Dama fouled out. How do you think Kock Bar or Callum Barker will match up with him?

All the EIU guys played well - obviously - but a lot of their offense was head-down dribble drive into the lane - and I don't think they will get that against us..
I am surprised they got so much of it vs. Marquette, but MU went with a small lineup and didn't double in the lane to avoid fouling

I think Koch Bar is a similar player to Dama but poss. more experienced and I think Dama won't beat Koch that often

EIU has only beaten ONE D-I team, they beat IUPUI 80-79 - the team we have handled the easiest of any D-I team we have played.

Not sure what to expect on Friday. We are at home, better rested, and with more prep time. However Eastern looks dangerous and a capable road team. Is this Friday or Sunday the time we see a small “market correction” for our team? Not sure, but boy is it refreshing to have a team with some toughness again!

I think we win easily Friday against EIU, but see the "market correction" on Sunday at San Diego State.

I agree that we'll handle EIU pretty well. I don't see any way that we can go to SDSU and beat they in their gym.

Saw the EIU-Marquette game the other night. I think the Braves will have their hands full.

There have been a couple that are defunct and have had no activity for years, but I am unable to find a current one.

Their average home attendance so far this year (2 home games) is 656 per game.
Last year in 14 home games the average attendance was 1,328 per game.

Maybe they should take a lesson...
If Bradley did not have a fan forum like BradleyFans, I am convinced attendance and fan enthusiasm would be 10-20% less...
I get told all the time by fans who say this site keeps them abreast of all the stuff going on with Bradley basketball and sparks their interest...

EIU has one guy noted as "Questionable" for tonight's game, guard Mack Smith - a part time starter who is averaging 5.2 ppg
Likewise Jayden Hodgson is also noted as "Questionable".

8 Points... Wow, that just seems like too much of an edge by the odds makers. They know more than I do, so I guess I will watch the game with that expectation. I love being the under dog.

Go Braves!!!!

Yes, it is noted in the top post of this thread.

Here is the ESPN3.com link-
http://www.espn.com/watch/schedule/?type=upcoming

By the way, there is a large turnout for the Braves Club pregame party.
