I wonder if the fact that Pearl did not win the COY award in his own co nference might hurt his chances?

George Mason is in the Elite Eight and wasn't supposed to even win their conference.
Jim Larranaga should be the COY hands down.
Why is there so much push for guys like Roy Williams who has a team full of McD AA's who could have jumped right to the pros, and guys like Pearl and Wright (and even Hobbs) whose teams are loaded with top DI talent but who aren't around any more now that we're talking ELITE EIGHT??

In the preseason George Mason wasn't expected to do much.
They were picked 3rd in their CAA Conference.
They were only 22nd ranked in the Midmajor poll behind TWO of their own conference schools, Old Dominion (was #2) and Hofstra was #20.
