You read that news and maybe ... just maybe ... it isn't 100% about the money to absolutely every player.

    2026 Portal transfers

Hey guys, I put together a two parter in terms of where the teams in the Valley are right now - sort of the pulse of it all. For better or worse, I think that the BU fanbase, at least on this board, is probably one of the most negative right now. I can understand it because it's similar to...

Smiley's back for Belmont. Very curious how many more guys stay - their hiring of someone with the pedigree of the Duke coaching staff is bound to impress players.

Ahmad Henderson is also recommitted to UIC, giving them 5 key returnees from last year's squad.

Just one other thought: How about that he had the same job for 20 years and maybe just wanted to do something different? He could have left countless times if he was just about the money. Everyone is so jaded to think that every decision that every player and coach makes is solely about the...

Jaquan Johnson transfers to Iowa State

One addendum. Wardle just tweeted about the guys going out. That should, barring some shock, mean that everyone else is back. Otherwise, why does he send this now?

Jaquan Johnson transfers to Iowa State

It's not my intention to sound rude, but I think some of you guys ought to just log off for awhile and decompress. I mean, seriously, never have a four year player again? We literally last season graduated: Darius Hannah (played all 5 years at BU) Connor Linke (5 years at BU) I'd also put Meta...

Nathaniel, Johnson, Lowery, Washington - all back for UIC. That's a heck of a core to start. But, we saw how bad they were without Crawford running the show ... that's the big one for them.

I'd take Federiko in a second - he's got a ton of potential and would serve the exact need for the type of player we need to replace with graduating big men.

    Home of the Brave

Root for Rienk and Nebraska. I know it's a big school, but to see them paint that arena completely red is like Bradley does at Arch Madness, just on a much larger scale. And they haven't been a perennial winner. They're the perfect team to root for in this tournament with so few smaller schools...

1st round NIT- Final score: Dayton 80 Bradley 66

86th and final story of the season ... been a lot of words, but thanks for reading! https://bubraves2006.substack.com/p/every-season-ends-it-never-gets-easier

    2026 Portal transfers

Curious why you would think that. His best skill is supposedly shooting threes and he made just 33.9% in 221 attempts. That's not great. And he's not a good defender. If you've been reading the tea leaves - Coach Wardle wants guys who can (and have the desire to) play defense next season. I...

1st round NIT- Final score: Dayton 80 Bradley 66

Took me a long time to write this one up and watched a ton of film on Dayton. I think they are beatable but they are definitely good. A lot of parallels to us. Give it a read: March 18th - NIT Round 1 vs. Dayton Preview

Where were you 20 years ago today?

It's funny because of my greatest sports memories is also a bit hazy in terms of the actual detail. I wish there was HD of that because I was closer than even DC as I was covering the game for the Bradley Scout and was in the press row somewhere near the Bradley bench. I can't remember the exact...

NIT- Bradley gets NIT bid- will play Dayton in Carver Arena, Wed. March 18, 8:00 pm on ESPNU

I'll be doing a long preview for this one but one thing of note I noticed early: Dayton is the #1 team in the country in free throw rate. So, let's hope we don't some whistle happy "MVC-like" refs because these guys know how to get to the line.

    NCAA Tournament

UNI is 25th nationally in defensive efficiency, St. John's is 10th. Barttorvik has St. John's as the 15th best team in the country - a bit under seeded. Panthers will have their hands full.

I took some time to really go through some reasons why Alexander left. The whole thing is fairly jarring for a person who values loyalty like I do. Read more here: https://bubraves2006.substack.com/p/loyalty-what-is-good-for-absolutely

    Looking ahead

Yeah and Valpo has one of the best coaches in the conference. ISU Red does not.
